Holland Charter Township (Ottawa County) seeks an experienced professional for the Community Development Director position. This position is responsible to provide professional planning, zoning, community development, and administrative leadership for the Comprehensive Plan, Zoning Ordinance, Property and Housing Maintenance Code, and departmental operations; and to provide support to the Planning Commission and related boards and functions. The successful candidate will also be reviewed for his/her potential to administer the Building Safety Department staff and operations in the enforcement of construction codes.

The position requires: excellent oral and written communication skills; attention to detail; ability to establish excellent working relationships; ability to organize, prioritize and work independently; and ability to assess issues and problem solve creatively to enhance operational efficiencies and delivery of quality services. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Urban and Regional Planning or related field and five years of progressively responsible experience in municipal planning, zoning, community development, administration and operations. Professional designation as a Community Planner and/or membership in the AICP is desirable.
