The City of Cedar Rapids is looking for an experienced supervisor or manager to lead our Development Services team.

The ideal candidate will have 10 years or more experience in land development with preferred experience in both the private and public sector. Various education and experience backgrounds are welcome including; Planning, Civil Engineering, and Land and Economic Development.
The Development Services Manager serves under the direction of the Assistant City Manager – Development Services.

The Development Services Manager provides management and direction for the Development Services team and coordinates with appropriate city staff to facilitate land development projects in Cedar Rapids.

Examples of Essential Duties include but are not limited to;
Managing the planning and execution of land development services project team, including process development and policy and process improvements;
Coordinates inter-departmental solutions to address land development challenges;
Managing project quality assurance process and reports appropriate performance measures;
Communicate plans, status and issues to higher levels of management;
Coordinate with Economic Development staff to support the City's economic development strategy;
Provide peer-review, technical support, training, coaching, and staff development of team members;

Education and Experience:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Business, Civil Engineering, or related field; and
Extensive experience as a project or program manager facilitating the development of project management work products; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
