Description     

The Assistant City Planner supports the functions of the Planning section of the Community Development Department.  Responsibilities include: (1) responding to inquiries regarding the City's zoning ordinance and land use; (2) staff liaison to the Heritage Preservation Commission (3) Program Administrator to the Federal Community Development Block Grant program (4) preparing and presenting detailed reports to the Planning Commission; and (5) serves as the City's demographic specialist.
 
Minimum Qualifications:
The job requires a Bachelor's degree in Planning, Historic Preservation or related field, and four years of experience in municipal planning and/or historic preservation, or equivalent experience.  A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is also required.
