The City of Bell is located approximately 10 miles southeast of Los Angeles with a population of approximately 35,400 residents. The City is seeking a dynamic, team-oriented individual who will oversee the City’s Economic Development Strategy. The Community Development Department encompasses Building and Safety, Code Enforcement, Engineering, Planning, Bell Housing Authority, Community Development Block Grants, Economic Development and the Successor Agency-(Community Redevelopment Agency). The Community Development Director will provide highly complex technical and administrative support, and serve as an advisor to the Chief Administrative Officer and City Council. Requirements Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in urban planning, public administration or a related field from an accredited university or college is required. Master’s Degree preferred. Seven (7) years of progressively responsible administrative and supervisory management experience in community development, planning or redevelopment (A.I.C.P Desirable).
