Community Development Director – Saranac Lake, New York

Professional, management level position available with the Village of Saranac Lake, New York. Minimum requirements: bachelor’s degree with specialization in public administration or urban planning; advanced degree preferred. Excellent leadership, organizational, presentation, analytical, writing and computer skills desired. Experience in preparing and administering community development grants including waterfront, park, infrastructure, historic preservation and housing programs. Candidate must have a working knowledge of comprehensive planning and zoning, as well as Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) review processes, as applicable to the needs of the Village.

Responsibilities of the position include: grant writing and administration, managing community development projects, establishing and maintaining project budgets, facilitating a comprehensive plan update, reviewing and coordinating Planning Board and ZBA applications, and the NYS SEQR process, as applicable to the needs of the Village.
